The 2019 The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival is upon us and the event has once again proven as noteworthy as ever. Boasting a star-studded line-up of ambassadors—read Zara and Mike Tindall, Nacho Figueras, Delfina Blaquier, Francesca Cumani, Billy Slater, Hamish McLachlan, Rob Archibald and Amanda Abate—the carnival kicked off on January 6 with a launch that rivalled all others.
On the first day of the carnival, the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo saw three games played at Doug Jennings Park. The barrier draw for the Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas and The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YOClassic took place on January 8, followed closely by the yearling sale on January 9, which was preceded by a surfing session at Surfers Paradise beach.

Gold Coast car dealer fined for second odometer tampering

 A Gold Coast car dealer has been busted for tampering with the odometer of a car that he sold. The Office of Fair Trading took Christos Spiro Tsalapataris to court where he was ordered to pay $5,000 for the offence. Southport court heard that Mr Tsalapataris, who traded as GC Car Wholesale, purchased a 2011 Mitsubishi Triton from a Southport motor dealer in June last year for $6,100.
