The Wests Tigers raced out to a 16-0 lead after 21 minutes leaving the North Queensland Cowboys to rue missed opportunities.
It was an even first half other than on the scoreboard but the Cowboys looked to have scored with nine minutes left in the half.
Starting within the 10, the Cowboys shifted the ball quickly through the hands with Kyle Feldt looking like he had scored.
