China launches second probe into Australian wine, claiming government subsidies could infringe trade rules

China's Commerce Ministry has confirmed it has launched an anti-subsidy investigation into Australian wine exported in containers of 2 litres or less.

The probe will be aimed at determining whether Australian wine exporters benefit from government subsidies.

The investigation will last one year, however it can be extended to the end of February 2022 under special circumstances.

It comes two weeks after China launched a separate year-long investigation into alleged dumping of Australian wine into the Chinese market.
