Police hunt burn-out bandit over dangerous driving on the Gold Coast

 Police are calling for help from the public to track down a motorist responsible for a few burnouts and dangerous driving in Coomera yesterday evening. A green Holden HSV GTS was seen doing several burnouts near a pub on Dreamworld Parkway around 5.00 pm yesterday. It then started swerving between traffic, narrowly avoiding crashes with a truck and multiple cars. Gold Coast on alert for possibly severe thunderstorms later today

 Gold Coasters are being warned to expect a bit of storm activity later on, despite a calm and warm start to the day. The Bureau is predicting possibly severe cells to move in throughout the afternoon, ahead of a southerly change. It’s expected to bring heavy rain, possible hail and strong winds for parts of the Gold Coast and southeast region. Hail, dangerous winds likely as storms fire up across southeast

 Severe storms continue to sweep across the Gold Coast with more areas of the city being impacted. The Bureau of Meteorology warns severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Mudgeeraba, Nerang, Tweed Heads(NSW), Kooralbyn and Numinbah Valley. They are forecast to affect Coolangatta, Beaudesert and Southport by 6:10 pm and Aratula, Mount Tamborine and Coomera by 6:40 pm.
