Queensland police officer sentenced for helping daughter cross border during COVID closure
A former south-east Queensland police officer has been sentenced to 120 hours of community service after pleading guilty to helping his daughter breach the state's COVID border restrictions last year.
Former senior constable Robert William Eickenloff was charged with misconduct in public office for escorting his daughter into Queensland in September last year, when the border was closed.
Eickenloff met Maddison Eickenloff, 22, just across the border in New South Wales, where she was waiting for him in her car, the sentencing hearing in the District Court in Brisbane heard today.
